Depression is a very unpleasant condition. In fact, it is probably worse than some other health problems. People suffering from depression do not feel themselves happy, they remain sad for a long period and this condition can even get worse in course of time. If you have a broken bone, you can have some inconvenience but you are still able to stay happy, to meet with your friends and generally spend a great time. This is what rarely people with depression do. Sadness is their companion for most of the time.
Depression is an illness and it needs to be cured. As it is for all illnesses, in order to treat something, the cause should be found. It is important to find a reason to improve the situation. This is what is important to do when it comes to the treatment of depression.
There are different reasons for why this condition occurs. Some people due to a range of reasons are more vulnerable emotionally and thus are more predisposed to different mental illnesses, including depression. The people who suffer from depression may be prescribed with special medications known as antidepressant. Those may bring a relief as they are able to increase availability of certain brain chemicals. However, it is not good to take antidepressant for the whole life. Being an important part of our life, stress at the same time, may lead to depression.
If you have an exam, interview to a new job, wedding, etc. you may have some stress. Stress in a small portion is even stimulating, but if you experience stress all the time, you may have problems. Thus, you should watch your mental condition and not to overload it with emotional events. Remember that even happy evens are stressful. If within just a short time you get your diploma, get a new job, get married, etc. you might feel yourself unwell in the future.
